Tie-pin, or Lavalier microphones as they are widely known, are ideal for discreet use in broadcast interview situations, their compact dimensions ensuring that they do not draw the eye on camera. Their convenient size means that they are even used by some radio broadcast engineers, despite their appearance not being an issue in that medium. In studio environments, Lavalier microphones are commonly used without foam wind covers, but when recording interviews outdoors, Lavaliers are just as prone to the deleterious effects of the wind as any other microphone, and a windshield is required to prevent the wind rendering the interview audio unlistenable.Rycote have manufactured a popular Lavalier Windjammer for many years, and are continuing to do so, but in recognition of the fact that most broadcasters today prefer their microphones to remain as unobtrusive as possible, a re-engineered version of that Windjammer has now been added to Rycote’s product line which is more discreet on camera. The fur on the Ristretto, as it is known, is considerably shorter than that on Rycote's existing Lavalier Windjammer. Like the existing Rycote Lavalier Windjammer, the Ristretto is secured to its microphone by a foam connector, but a rubber ring has now been added to both products for better grip and retention
Main Benefits:
High-level protection against wind noise for lavalier mics in the open air.
Reduces lavalier microphone noise and clothes rustle.

Confident Exposure Metering
Using the ColorChecker 18% Grey Balance target for reflective spot exposure metering will give you the confidence that your images and video footage are exposed as accurately as possible with the same 18% grey reference square found in the 24-patch ColorChecker Classic target. The grey is scientifically engineered to provide a precise uniform surface that is spectrally neutral, meaning it reflects equal amounts of red, blue and green in all types of lighting conditions.
The perceived colour of white changes based on ambient conditions—outdoors it is perceived to be cooler; indoors, warmer; and under fluorescent light, greener. ColorChecker grey Balance gives you the power to adjust your digital camera's colour sensitivity to exactly match the ambient lighting conditions, in effect changing what the camera sees. Even in a controlled studio environment, establishing an accurate custom grey balance ensures an accurate image and the best possible photo images or video footage from the start of each new session.
Benefits:
The ColorChecker Grey Balance target will help you obtain instant grey balance, evaluate studio lighting and make quick colour adjustments, ensuring your camera’s Raw photo image or video footage accurately portrays real life.
The ColorChecker 18% Grey Balance target is ideal for exposure metering and grey balance for more accurate photographic colour rendering.
Use this handy portable tool to adjust your camera’s colour sensitivity to exactly match the ambient lighting conditions.
